About the Author about the Author As you began reading Looking for Rainbows, may your heart be touched. May you laugh, and smile. But, should you be inclined to shed a tear as you identify with a poem's expression of pain, may you always remember to look for the rainbow that comes after the rain. As a little child growing up in southwestern Virginia, in the Cumberland Mountains of Appalachia, I far too often heard my mother say, "Wait until the adults are through talking, and then you may have a turn." Time and time again, she reminded me that I had to wait. Once I entered school, it would be different. Or, so I thought. There I would make friends with children my own age. Finally, I would talk to my heart's delight. It didn't exactly happen that way. First grade frequently found me with my nose in a circle on the chalkboard, my hands behind my back, and me standing on tiptoes: the punishment for talking or whispering, or looking as if it were about to happen. After graduating from Radford College, Radford, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, I began a new life in northern Virginia. In the ensuing years, as teacher, wife, mother and grandmother, I have enjoyed working with crafts and art, and painting, primarily with acrylics. Further studies included art and writing workshops. In 2005, recovering from bilateral knee replacement surgery, I enrolled in a memoir writing class. Giving myself complete freedom to ride on the wind of creativity’s inspiration, I first wrote in notebooks, in journals, and on scraps of paper. The day I purchased my first computer my fingers rejoiced because they could better keep up with all the ideas and Voices that were begging to be given birth. Nevertheless, I had to navigate the travails of discovering how to use the computer. In short order, my computer became my best writing friend, along with fingers that could fly. In the beginning, I wrote short stories. Then later, over a span of about ten years, I began painting, with words, if you will, the portraits of the voices that found themselves in the lines of my poetry. For me, the passion I have for writing is like an eternal flame. Always, it is the light for my poetic path. And, I wonder. Could it be, from that long ago childish need, my poems are the seeds that have now come into full bloom? I would like to think so. Jackie

By Amazon Customer Jackie Davis Allen is a "Dolly Parton Poet".Unbelievably talented; with poetry so vivid, so real. I feel it flowing from her early years in the mountains of Virginia.

I confirm what she says in her bio By Amazon Customer looking for RainbowsI finally finished reading this book by Jackie Davis Allen.Jackie is a gifted, talented and prolific writer of verses. She transports one to the times and places she grew up in, Appalachian region of USA, through this literary vehicle many of us love. I confirm what she says in her bio; reading her poems made me go through a gamut of feelings and thoughts. I enjoyed many folksy, and I would add time-tested, wisdom she braided in her poems.I enjoyed reading each of her poems. But I am partial to one in particular “Hand-me-down Shoes' just to name one among many. It is about a father, a miner; a hero in the eyes of a young daughter-child. She wants to emulate him. She worships the grounds he walks on; she wants to be his ‘son’. Perhaps, walking in his shoes will do it. Poignant! She realizes she cannot fill his shoes, literally and metaphorically. How wonderful!

DeFranco I have been photographing birds for a while, now, though few of my images are as stunning as Prathap's. The advice given by the author is basic, but given in a clear and straightforward manner. It's easy to follow and, if followed faithfully, will result in good bird photos. Cooperation by the subjects, however, is needed to get the sort of photos used to illustrate the book, as well as a willingness to take a lot of photos. A great starter book for the would-be bird photographer.

By Gwenneth Adams Making fires without matches is an essential skill that we need to master. I really enjoyed reading this very informative book because i earned a lot of ways on how to make fire most especially if you don't have anything with you but the nature. Robert Hoffman have done his best on collecting these very useful information and gathered them here in this book.

This is true especially with the more primative ways of starting fire. Without even a photo of a bow drill I think it would be very hard to try to use this method . So it is an overview , but you would need more instructions for some techniques .

I went on a camping trip so I used the techniques used in this book. I was able to start fires easily with the help of this book. So many ideas and methods that are quite creative and I wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

To Isongo, which stands upon the tributary of that name, came a woman of the Isisi who had lost her husband through a providential tree falling upon him. I say "providential," for it was notorious that he was an evil man, a drinker of beer and a favourite of many bad persons. Also he made magic in the forest, and was reputedly the familiar of Bashunbi the devil brother of M'shimba-M'shamba. He beat his wives, and once had set fire to his house from sheer wickedness. So that when he was borne back to the village on a grass bier and the women of his house decked themselves with green leaves and arm in arm staggered and stamped through the village street in their death dance, there was a suspicion of hilarity in their song, and a more cheery step in their dance than the occasion called for.

The Keepers of the King's Peace, by Edgar Wallace

About the Author Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace was born illegitimately in Greenwich, London, in 1875 to actors Mary Jane Richards and T.H. Edgar. As an infant he was adopted by George Freeman, a porter at Billingsgate fish market. Aged eleven, Wallace sold newspapers at Ludgate Circus and upon leaving school took a job with a printer. He later enlisted in the Royal West Kent Regiment, before transferring to the Medical Staff Corps, and was sent to South Africa. In 1898, he published a collection of poems called 'The Mission that Failed', and subsequently left the army to become correspondent for Reuters. South African war correspondent for 'The Daily Mail' followed and his articles were later published as 'Unofficial Dispatches'. His outspokenness infuriated Lord Kitchener, who removed his credentials. He then edited the 'Rand Daily Mail', but gambled disastrously on the South African Stock Market. Returning to England, Wallace at first reported on crimes and hanging trials, before becoming editor of 'The Evening News'. It was in 1905 that he founded the Tallis Press, publishing 'Smithy', a collection of soldier stories, and 'The Four Just Men'. The latter was published with the ending removed as an advertising stunt and he offered oe500 to readers who could successfully guess the ending. Unfortunately, many did and he was almost bankrupted. At various times Wallace also worked as a journalist on 'The Standard', 'The Star', 'The Week-End Racing Supplement' and 'The Story Journal'. In 1917, he became a Special Constable at Lincoln's Inn and also a special interrogator for the War Office. The Daily Mail sent Wallace to investigate atrocities in the Belgian Congo, a trip that provided material for his 'Sanders of the River' books. In 1923, he became Chairman of the Press Club and in 1931 stood as a Liberal Parliamentary candidate for Blackpool. Wallace's first marriage in 1901 to Ivy Caldecott, daughter of a missionary, ended in divorce in 1918 and he later married his much younger secretary, Violet King. Along with countless articles, some 23 screenplays and many short stories, Wallace wrote more than 170 books, which have been translated into 28 languages and sales of which have exceeded 50 million copies. Over 160 films have been made from his books - more than any other author. In the 1920's one of Wallace's many publishers claimed that a quarter of all books read in England were written by him. His sales were exceeded only by 'The Bible'. He died in 1932 whilst working on the screenplay for 'King Kong', having moved to Hollywood after being offered a contract by RKO.

I remember reading this book many, many years ago but now I wonder what was I thinking. The book is set in the early part of the 20th century and is about a British official in darkest Africa who has to keep the native population pacified. The Brit is very, very, British and the whole book seems very patronizing and racist.

Excerpt from How to Play GolfA book of 600 pages, profusely illustrated with over 100 full page engravings, and having sixteen forceful cartoons by Homer C. Davenport, the famous American artist. No man in America is better equipped to write on all the varied phases of the national game than is A. G. Spalding. His observation and experience began when the game was young. He gained fame as a pitcher forty years ago, winning a record as player that has never yet been equalled. He was associated with the management of the pastime through trying years of struggle against prevailing evils. He opposed the gamblers; he fought to eradicate drunkenness; he urged and introduced new and higher ideals for the sport; he was quick to see that ball playing and the business management of clubs, at the same time and by the same men, were impracticable; he knew that ball players might be quite competent as magnates, but not while playing the game; he was in the forefront of the fight against syndicating Base Ball and making of a nation's pastime a sordid trust; he was the pioneer to lead competing American Base Ball teams to a foreign land; he took two champion teams to Great Britain in 1874, and two others on a tour of the world in 1888-9; he was present at the birth of the National League, and has done as much as any living American to uphold and prolong the life of this great pioneer Base Ball organization.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Mr. Vardon's explanation of the swing and game in general are rather complicated. If you want to know the gist of the book, i'll save you time and money. For him the most important things were : A) The grip (needless to say he prescribes the grip who carries his name nowadays AKA the overlapping grip. And B) A steady head throughout the swing motion.

The author gives his own opinion judging from the evidence he has gathered from books, experience, and instructor's knowledge. What if you were told that everything you believe about your religion is false? A self-proclaimed "messenger from The Maker," arrives with a dire warning: the world will soon end, and The Maker will not intervene. There is only one way for us to save ourselves and her mission is to show us the way. She quickly harnesses the strength of the Internet, social media, and the mainstream press. Her message resonates strongly with those already feeling disenfranchised from the organized religions of the world. Soon, millions believe in what she says, abandoning the restrictive religions that they once followed. The unaffiliated, sometimes referred to as "Nones," rapidly increase their numbers. This globally expanding "religion of no religion" soon begins to threaten the leaders of the major organized religions, led by the United Religious Congress. As they prepare for their massive world-wide "Call to the Mountain" conference, they are determined to regain their power and their followers at whatever the cost.

By bnbboy Arnie Stone wrote a first novel that frankly amazed me. The subject matter, a questioning of EVERYTHING, everyone believes about their religion, is sure to spark deep conversation between readers. I see this as an excellent book for book clubs. I would love to see Mr. Stone on a book tour discussing his book with a live audience. While some of the discussions in the book were obviously born during the idealism of his college years, when he said he first got the idea for "Nones", he brings modern problems with terrorism, sectarianism, and the increasing polarization of both politics and religion to the discussion. He spares practically no one from his criticism of what this polarization is doing to our planet and to the futures of our children. I wasn't sure whether this was going to be like "The Day the Earth Stood Still" or "Godzilla", but was pleasantly surprised to see such an original viewpoint and a really exciting finale! Definitely a fast read, hard to put down and it stays with you when you have finished. Well done Arnie Stone. Paramount, contact this man!

Vort This novel presents a very thought provoking theory of the universe with the main theme of "doing unto others as they would do unto you." It is not religious ... but rather portrays some very ingenious ideas about the origins of the different religions. Don't get me wrong, it is not a heavy tome, but a well written novel that makes you want to continue reading until the very end. I intend to have my book club read this and I expect a very lively discussion.

Required Reading By Amazon Customer All who debate the existence of a Higher Being enjoy the ultimate intellectual luxury -- they can never be proved wrong! Core human values, the vastness, majesty and incomprehensibility of the universe, etc. argue in the affirmative; biblical fantasies, the history of human atrocity -- especially the immense suffering of innocents, etc. -- argue the opposite. This gross oversimplification does no justice to the "Revelation of the Nones", but there are three kinds of people in the world: Affiliated Believers/Non-Believers; Disenchanted Believers (Nones), and Atheistic Non-Believers (Nones). In this important work of religious fiction, author Arnie Stone finds the Golden Mean. His book reads like a fast-paced novel, inspires like a bible, and empowers like a manifesto! He strikes a near-mortal blow at the heart of organized religion...but then, gently (almost invisibly), offers a superior alternative. This work should be required reading in every Seminary, Yeshiva, Madrasa or any other training ground for religious leaders. In fact, it should be required reading everywhere!Harvey Lauer

    The Unbearable Bassington, by Saki

About the Author Saki was the pen name of the British writer Hector Hugh Munro (1870 1916). In addition to his short stories, of which he was an acknowledged master, he also wrote a full-length play, "The Watched Pot", in collaboration with Charles Maude; two one-act plays; a historical study, "The Rise of the Russian Empire"; a short novel, The Unbearable Bassington"; a parody of Alice in Wonderland", "The Westminster Alice"; and a fantasy about England under German occupation, When William Came".

From AudioFile Comus Bassington is the irresponsible and ungrateful focus of his corner of British society. Circa 1900, what can be done with him--besides ship him to the Colonies, where he can no longer embarrass his mother or break the hearts of girls who ought to marry sensibly? Saki's social chaffing is gentle, revealing kernels of sympathy for all his superficial and misguided characters. As narrator, Joyce gives the right touch of class and has, besides, a gift for sketching a complete vocal characterization in a single sentence. This period piece is slow-paced, almost a ramble at times. But its subtle delights should please lovers of British social satirists from Austen to Wodehouse. S.P. (c) AudioFile, Portland, Maine

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A life of quiet desperation By Donatien How fascinating these times must have been ! I am thinking of the period stretching from 1870 to 1914. Fascinating, of course, for the 20% or so of the population who lived between well and very well. For the poor, the times are never fascinating. Here, I am choosing 1912 and the publication of Saki's "The unbearable Bassington". At first, I thought it had been written in the 1930s. The man was ahead of his time. You could say it's a biography, rather than a novel. The young Comus Bassington is extremely good-looking, charming and articulate. His mother adores him. The feeling is not returned because he is also selfish, insensitive and irresponsible. He destroys everything he touches and antagonises all those who would be ready to like or love him. In the end, he detroys himself. He is as condemned to fail as is Orestes in Euripides' tragedy. Like all of us, Comus is his own worst enemy. So is his mother whose irrational attraction for "objets d'art" and beautiful furniture can never compensate for her lack of human warmth. So is his best friend, a pale copy of Comus himself, but rather dull and down to earth. So is the wealthy young lady they are both courting. She plumbs for the dull one. Given the choice between these two, she makes the right choice. Comus would undoubtedly have dilapidated her fortune. Disappointed by her conventional, dreary marriage, she enjoys a one-night stand with a Russian captain. We can't help feeling that he will be followed by many.In self-exile, Comus chooses to commit suicide in a slow, masochistic fashion. He lets himself die.The style is wonderful ; very light and a tad precious to start with, more sober towards the end. The "novel" starts with a succession of incisive, pityless portraits of the " le tout Londres", at times reminiscent of La Bruyère's Caractères. The plot - if you can call it that - underlines the quiet desperation of those who, in the eyes of "ordinary" people should have everything it takes to be happy. The mixture of elegance and sadless is unforgettable.

Whitsett The Unbearable Bassington centers on Francesca Bassington, a woman obsessed with protecting her possessions, and her son Comus, a wise-cracking, irresponsible, and shallow young man who simultaneously charms and offends everyone with whom he comes in contact. Francesca has affection for her son, but wishes he could be remade as a responsible member of society, especially where such responsibility can lead to Francesca's continued well-being. Comus, however, manages both purposely and accidentally to thwart his mother's wishes, and in the end is sent into exile in Africa, where it is hoped he will make a career. Secondary characters abound, most notably Courtney Youghal, a mediocre but flashy politician with whom Comus has a shallow friendship, and who becomes Comus's rival for the hand of the wealthy Elaine de Frey. Francesca disapproves of Courtney, yet it is clear she wishes that her son were more like him. Ironically, although Comus's main shortcoming seems that he's an idler, he is no more so than his mother and her circle. It seems more to the point to say that Comus doesn't idle in the proper way. Most of the book is a setup for the last few chapters, which deal with Comus's exile, and which are poignant in the best sense of the word. Essentially, Comus is doomed by his own nature, which will not allow him, as an adult, to fit into the society in which he was raised. I take strong issue with the idea, put forth by the previous reviewer, that Comus is Dorian Gray-like. The comparison is absurd. Comus is merely a puckish boy who doesn't fit, and so is sent away to be forgotten. The book is a fairly complex study of human motivation, although it is somewhat undercut by Saki's need to clutter the text with political and cultural details that detract from its basic themes. Also present are Saki's ubiquitious bons mots which, while charming in his short stories, become tiresome as the book goes on. This carping aside, it is an insightful look at middle-class England in the waning days of the empire, just prior to the outbreak of World War I.I think it's also something for us to read today, when perhaps our children aren't "achieving" as we think they should. That's why I reread it, and I'm glad I did.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Little-known masterpiece By Joseph W. Smith III Yes, Saki was one of the world's great short-story writers. Too bad so few know of this obscure full-length novel that displays every bit as much brilliance as the tales -- if not more. Concerns Comus Bassington, a worthless, Dorian Gray-like libertine living around the turn of the century, and the gradual dissolution of his life. Biting satire of materialism, written with vigor and beauty; a short of Bernard Shaw by way of Oscar Wilde (incidentally, the novel contains a mockery of Shaw, in the character of a playwright named Sherard Blaw!). Ardent readers are urged to find this gem and enjoy every minute of it.

When did you last hear from Nayland Smith?" asked my visitor. I paused, my hand on the siphon, reflecting for a moment. "Two months ago," I said: "he's a poor correspondent and rather soured, I fancy." "What—a woman or something?"

By TS "Imagine a person, tall, lean and feline, high-shouldered, with a brow like Shakespeare and a face like Satan, ... one giant intellect, with all the resources of science past and present ... Imagine that awful being, and you have a mental picture of Dr. Fu-Manchu, the yellow peril incarnate in one man."This is the second volume in Sax Rohmer's Fu Manchu series, and the first full novel; it may also be found alternatively titled as "The Return of Dr. Fu Manchu." (The first volume, if you wish to start at the beginning, is a collection of short stories, and can be found either titled "The Mystery of Dr. Fu Manchu" or "The Insidious Dr. Fu Manchu"). Most of this review will apply to Rohmer's Fu Manchu series generally - skip to the last paragraph for comments on this particular volume. These books are *wildly* racist, not just by modern standards, but even by standards contemporary to when it was written. The protagonist, "Nayland Smith," isn't just an Aryan, he has a name only one letter removed from Wayland Smith of Old Norse legend; every single villain in the entire series has a "racial cast", "mixed blood," etc.; Jewish characters aren't just money-grubbing villains, they literally shrug their shoulders "racially," whatever that means; so on, so forth. Later books in the series take this to an extreme; one entire book focuses on the protagonist's protection of a clear analogue of the contemporary Father Coughlin (an American radio preacher known for his antisemitism and defense of Hitler and Mussolini in the 30's),and this trend approaches the absurd when a later volume, published in 1939, finds Fu Manchu essentially trying to assassinate a Hitler analogue in order to prevent European war, while the protagonists attempt to stop him and save the dictator. That said, if you're a fan of early twentieth century pulp fiction, you probably need to read these books despite that. Dr. Fu Manchu is an iconic character, referenced and alluded to throughout 20th century fiction, and a host of villains from James Bond's Dr. No to Ming the Merciless on down all draw inspiration from this source. The general environment of adventurism, mystical artifacts, bizarre murders, etc., has been hugely influential in its own right -- the Indiana Jones franchise, especially, owes a great deal to the Fu Manchu novels (although Lucas and Spielberg had the good sense to make sure Nazis were the *villains*).The plots are standard pulp tropes, and the reader finds Fu Manchu committing murders via an assortment of (very definitely non-white) cats'-paws and bizarre eastern animals, meanwhile befuddling our protagonists in various ways with assorted exotic Eastern drugs. Usually there's a beautiful and mysterious Eastern woman beguiling and/or assisting our heroes in various ways, etc. Fu Manchu himself is always far more intelligent than the protagonists, and they only prevail through luck, the sometime assistance of the aforementioned Eastern beauty, the "inscrutability" of the Doctor's motives, or by playing on the Doctor's "strange oriental honor." Conversely, when the author manages to write the Doctor into a corner, he just gets out of it via unexplained mysterious powers (essentially "a wizard did it"). The overall effect of the Doctor's repeated demonstrations of intelligence, honor, capability, etc., combined with the protagonists' ineptitude and wild racism, is somewhat unique in my reading experience: over the course of the series the Doctor becomes more and more and more sympathetic and respectable, and the protagonists less and less so, to the point that I think a modern reader can legitimately view the Doctor as the "hero" in the later books (especially the aforesaid one involving the Hitler analogue). This particular volume isn't my favorite in the series; the events in it are fairly repetitive and predictable, without the wildly over-the-top silliness of the later books in the series; my favorite moment probably comes when the Doctor taunts the protagonists for yet again falling into the exact same trap they've fallen into twice before. Still, it's an interesting read, both as a cultural artifact of 1920's racism and as a building block of 20th century pulp fiction, and worth reading as part of the overall series.

Ahlm "The Return of Dr. Fu-Manchu," also titled "The Devil Doctor," is the second of the 14 novels featuring the clever battle of minds and wills between Sir Denis Nayland Smith and Fu-Manchu. There is, of course, our narrator, Dr. Petrie, and the mysterious woman returns as well: the beautiful Egyptian, Karamaneh, whose allegiance is often unclear. In fact, Smith and Petrie often are able to survive Fu Manchu's clever schemes or traps through some last minute twist, or by almost "divine" intervention by that beautiful temptress Karamaneh, for whom poor Petrie desires!"The Return of Dr. Fu-Manchu," or "The Devil Doctor," is packed with fast-moving action and bizarre adventures which will keep the reader turning the pages. After a mysterious death, inspector Nayland Smith warns Petrie that Fu Manchu is about. Together they investigate and try to prevent a string of exotic murders and thwart Fu Manchu's plans. Fu-Manchu's plots involve lethal poisons, kidnappings, vicious animals, quicksand, a haunted house, rat torture, murderous minions, and torture device called the Gates of Joyful Wisdom. It's amazing how much action and adventure is packed into a novel.Perhaps a bit "trite" in spots and at times with a feel of the "pulp fiction" genre, nevertheless, the series is surprisingly well written. Sax Rohmer wrote the Fu Manchu stories between 1912 and the late 1950s. Rohmer's creation of the sinister, evil genius, Fu Manchu, rivals Doyle's Professor Moriarty as an icon of en evil, genius, mastermind. Rohmer's work also appears to bridge the mystery genre from Holmes to Christie's Poirot and Bigger's Charlie Chan books. Sax Rohmer is most famous for creating the infamous character of Fu Manchu who later became even more famous in the black and white movies of the 30's. Fu Manchu was portrayed in various films by Boris Karloff in the 1930's. The Fu Manchu novels are worth the time to discover the great, intellectual (and stereotypical) evil genius who is Fu Manchu. Some editions are currently being re-released in paperback and more are destined for the Kindle as well.

It has some views we no longer share about different ethnic groups. Once I realized it is part of the times I enjoyed the who-done-it approach with a taste of history. Some of the villains repeat in his books which makes it even better.

    Intruder Essentials, by Jay Nicholas

About the Author I first fished with a hand-line in the Bosporus near Istanbul, Turkey in 1955, catching only a few little fish. I grew up fishing San Francisco Bay, lakes in Germany, the waters of Kwajalein Atoll, streams in Montana, and many Oregon waters. Sometime around 1962 I started tying flies on a Thompson Model A with Nymo thread, leading up to my first commercial sales to Norm Thompson’s in Portland, Oregon in about 1964. Fifty years later and thousands of flies produced from various tying vises, I have more than a little experience with trout, steelhead, salmon, and saltwater patterns. The Intruder is a specialized style that required commitment of serious time and energy to develop a personal style that I am confident with, including time fishing the bugs and interrogating my more-experienced Intruder tyer/fisher friends. My fishing passion evolved from an all-inclusive interest in trout, steelhead, and salmon - to focusing on Chinook in coastal estuaries plus fishing the ocean offshore Pacific City for sea bass, salmon, lingcod, and albacore at every opportunity when I can hitch a ride in a dory with friends. My professional career as a fish biologist spans nearly four decades, and fits quite naturally with my fishing interests. My first steelhead, silver, and cutthroat were caught during the early 1960s in Neskowin Creek, a fifteen minute drive from where my family now has a cabin in Pacific City. Nowadays, I’m focused on fishing, writing, and serving as an ambassador to promote fly fishing, fly tying, and conservation with a variety of businesses and organizations. I obsess over tying flies, fishing, and writing; generally creating the impression that I am concerned solely with such fishy matters. Not so. The love and tolerance of my family make it possible to immerse myself in these otherwise silly pursuits.

Feiger You tube videos and mscls instructional articles abound on the topic of Intruder flies, their history, and how to tie them. Some are better than others. The beauty of Intruders is that it's more a philosophy of tying, embodied in a form, than some dictoral prescription. Those that are so inclined can experiment to their hearts desire. And the possibilities are endless!.Jay's book gives you an excellent foundation from which to leap, if you are so inclined. And if you're not, an array of recipes and techniques that will help you produce productive and fishable flies.Three things make this book stand out for me:1) it's an inviting read, one that is welcoming, not intimidating. It's like your having a conversation with Jay on how to tie these flies and the techniques. You can hear his voice. For me, makes it so much easier to pick up, understand, and implement the techniques portrayed;2) the great variety of materials and techniques portrayed and clearly and concisely explained, with credit given where credit is due. Coupled with the pics and explanations, it's easy to successfully apply then to your own ties;3) lastly, there's something for everyone in this book. Have been tying for nearly 35 years, and I picked up some new 'stuff' that I will apply to not only my winter steelhead flies, but other warm, cold, and anadromous ties as well. In short, there's something for everyone. This, along with the rest of his published work, I'd worthy of bookshelf and tying bench space.Cheers-Feiger

The book is very simple and strait forward with good step by step instruction with pictures. Might be nice to take to a place that can put spiral bindings on it. So it will lay flat on a table or book stand. If you are looking into tying intrudes this book will show you the different color patterns and styles. If you are looking for a book to show you fly tying methods for intrudes this may not help you. You have to have a good amount of experience to follow the steps. If you are a beginner buy this book and watch some YouTube videos on intruder patterns to learn the different tying methods. Great book for any level of fly tier.
