5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Light of the western stars By raypal45 One of my favorite Zane Grey westerns of all time. Tightly written story with good plot. Nice descriptions of the western country( one of Mr. Grey's forte. Bad guys,noble heroes and an impossibly good heroine. No sex so suitable for most young people. However those who are politically correct may quibble at the descriptions of blacks, native Americans and Mexican-Americans. However that was the language of the times and we should not rewrite history to suit our own political beliefs.

You can skip the whole part from about 94% to 99% of the way through, which was almost entirely a very detailed and unnecessary description of a car ride. It might have been meant to draw out the suspense, but it was entirely too long for that - particularly since the payoff is very small. You read (or skim) pages after pages of descriptions of the harrowing drive for nothing, because the end is very unsatisfying - no romantic meeting or glimpse of the characters' happiness together or anything. Some people might like to "use their imaginations," but I would rather use my imagination for the hundreds of miles of driving and actually read about the characters' interaction. There are a lot of other unnecessary descriptions and plot devices as well, or parts that aren't particularly important that are drawn out. Lastly, throughout the book there are no real romantic scenes between the main characters - there's barely even any discernible romantic/sexual tension. And the guy isn't even present for about half the book. I for one didn't find it satisfying.

By Rich Summer If you are an aristocratic young lady that is getting jaded with touring Europe and high society functions, then why not decide to visit your black-sheep brother in the fairly tamed West. Of course he hasn't been to town to pick up your telegrams yet. This leaves you at the train station wondering why your brother isn't there. Then things get a tad hectic. So read it. It has an ending line I never expected to see in a Western.There is a lot more to the plot. The dynamics are interesting.Zane Grey was only about a half century ahead of his time. It seems like other westerns are imitations.He may actually spend too much time on his character's motivations. How can people that have a well-defined purpose or goal continually question themselves?As in most westerns the folks are bigger than life. The scenery is great. I think Louis L'Amour learned from him.Each of his novels has sent me to a dictionary a half-dozen to a dozen times. I don't believe I have a small vocabulary. I actually learn while reading a Western. LoL

This novella examines the spiritual question of the Soul--that elusive qualify in which mankind trusts. Can it be other than God-given? Can it be acquired through marriage or noble deeds, bartered or even sold outright? Does the possession of a soul make one's life easier or more difficult, one's moral decisions clearer or more complex? For humankind, a soul can prove a mixed blessing. But what would it do for supernatural being?This 175-year old fairy tale from the enchanted forests of Germany proves intensely poetic and romantic in style, yet it echoes medieval sagas of doomed emotional quests. The ageless theme warns of the danger resulting from the unnatural union between mortal and immortal. However, I discovered that this version (it's a translation) was different from the one my professor was discussing in class, which was a little frustrating because I could never properly search for a passage and find the pages the rest of the class was looking at, but that was my own fault. This is a beautiful translation that I recommend to anyone interested in gothic/slightly supernatural novels and/or Romantic Literature.

An Old Tale, But A Very Modern Feel to the Telling By Pop Bop Undine is a fairy-tale novella in which Undine, a water spirit, marries a knight named Huldebrand in order to gain a soul. It is an early German romance, but likely descended from earlier Continental tales about water-sprites who married mortals, but with conditions that ultimately led to tragedy. The story was published in English by at least 1909 and has been reprinted frequently. This Kindle freebie appears to be a copy taken from the "Told to the Children" series, which was a popular set of children's tales published in the early 1900's. This one was edited by Mary MacGregor, who did a number of books for the series.I haven't studied this closely but this appears to be a simplified and streamlined version of the Fouquee original. That was fine by me since I was reading this more out of curiosity than as a scholarly pursuit. If you like "meadows" instead of "verdure" this children's Kindle version might be the ticket. And, if you want a sophisticated fairy tale that is suitable for a romantic child reader, this could be a nice choice. It has comedy, tragedy, a love triangle, chivalry and human fraility, and (SPOILER) it all ends at a gravesite, so you know it's a heartstring tugger. Mostly I appreciated its narrative drive, clarity and modern feel.I read the Kindle freebie version of this and am happy to report that the formatting and scanning were satisfactory and the end result convenient and readable. So, while many of the old volumes that have been made available as Kindle freebies suffer from very poor transcription and formatting, this is not one of those. There are none of the Arthur Rackham illustrations that appear in hardbound volumes. That aside, this is a very nice find for readers who like to browse for interesting freebies.

She reminds us that while some of us may recall those days as a sort of innocent dreamtime, they were, in fact, just as filled with scandals, intrigues and shady characters as the House of Medici.Tenure, of course, is that condition which only exists in the University. Once it is bestowed, the tenured academic is lifted up to an Elysian Field from which he can look down at the struggling throng – and smile. The tenured one is un-fireable (provided one keeps one’s hands to oneself.) Of course, this knighthood is not easily acquired. The mountaintop can only be reached by tightrope. And it helps to have powerful friends. Therein lies Schultz’s tale.Chasing the Great God Tenure is a gracefully written story told by an author who actually lives in that rarified world of academia. Ago battles amid Academic Turf Wars By Amazon Customer In this book, Joanna Schultz has captured the atmosphere of a small university well, with its departmental in-fighting and turf wars on various administrative levels. This portrait is ironic, but telling. The characters caught up in the struggle are not always sympathetic, but the ones outside the fray, are. I was particularly drawn to one of the protagonists, Sophia Connors, as she negotiates relationships amid academic and financial stresses. I also appreciated the growing strength of Ellen Forley, who is in a relationship with the other main character, Albert Weismer. By Amazon Customer In her second novel, Joanna Schultz invites the reader to join the academic world at mediocre Midwest University in 1967, where academic fate seems inevitably linked to pure chance and other unexpected reasoning. In this environment, Dr. Weismer, just like everyone else, struggles with living up to expectations. The situation gets even worse when Dr. Weismer’s academic future is at stake and he is threatened to be denied tenure at Midwest. However, his former boring life then starts to take a rather unexpected turn and a real roller-coaster ride begins.Eloquently written and very, very funny.

Suffering setback after setback, the solitary and troubled White nonetheless found himself obsessively attached to the animal he hoped would one day set him free.

He has no guidance beyond an ancient manuscript and things go horribly awry. An outstanding book, a pleasure to read. Also an example of why current US regulations require a falconry apprenticeship period.

34 of 38 people found the following review helpful. A wondeful book By Peter Hill Thanks are due to New York Review Books for putting back in print this wonderful book. The edition is well produced. A quibble is that Marie Winn who writes the introduction is clearly not familiar with ,or comfortable with ,"field sports". T H White (and many modern writers and followers of fishing,falconry and related actities) would take issue with her distinction between being a natural history lover and a practioner of fishing,shooting,ferreting etc. More seriously, she writes that White "blithely snagged salmon". White fished for salmon and caught them fairly using a fly. He wrote many fine passages about his salmon fishing and the pieces are still found in anthologies of fishing literature. To "snag" a salmon means ,to those who fish ,that he took salmon illegally and unsportingly, by jerking a hook into the body of a salmon.There is no evidence that I have heard of that he would ever have done this.To suggest it does his memory a grave disservice. The introduction by Steve Bodio,himself a falconer, to the 1996 Wilder Places edition of The Goshawk is,to my mind, far better at exploring and explaining the reasons why this is a much loved book.

White's memoir of trying to train a goshawk were it not for Helen Macdonald's wonderful analysis in H IS FOR HAWK, her recent account of training her own hawk. White, as he himself admits, does a lot of things wrong: feeding the bird far too much, for example. This horrifies Macdonald, and I expected it to horrify me too. But, because he is unaware of his mistakes at the time, what comes over has no cruelty in it whatsoever; frustration and occasional despair, yes, but otherwise just the very honest account of a lonely man's struggle to bond with this wild creature of the air.And beautifully written! Which surprised me a little, but I should have realized that the author of THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING (the source for CAMELOT and an inspiration for HARRY POTTER) would have pretty strong chops. But again, the amazing quality of Helen Macdonald's writing -- easily the best I had read all year -- had made me assume that no one could equal her. Wrong again! In fact, I realized that by embracing the comparison with White, Macdonald was writing for her life. "Goshawks were Hamlet, were Ludwig of Bavaria," writes White. "Frantic heritors of frenetic sires, they were in full health more than half insane. When the red rhenish wine of their blood pulsed at full spate through their arteries, when the airy bird bones were gas-filled with little bubbles of unbiddable warm virility, no merely human being could bend them to his will." For both writers, the elemental wildness of their captor-captive stirs them to flights of verbal magnificence on virtually every page. White, a former schoolmaster, calls upon a huge vocabulary -- words like banting, nasconded, silurian, circumbendibus, and perdue -- in addition to the technical language of falconry used by both writers: austringer, jesses, creance, bate, stoop, yarak, and the like. A further subliminal interest in White's writing is that this is the late 1930s, dictators every bit as imperious as White's hawk are flexing their talons over in Europe, and the idea of aerial combat to the death is no longer confined to the world of birds.The book is brilliant. But I have to say it is also a little boring. Good though White's writing is on the individual page, he is not nearly as good as Macdonald at giving the reader a sense of his progress overall. Perhaps because his mistakes are always sending him back towards the starting point, perhaps because of the journal format with day following day with little obvious pattern, I could never measure how far White had come towards his goal. And the last third or more of the book, which are mainly about White's efforts to trap birds of different sizes, lose momentum almost entirely. White is quite frank about his efforts as "a second-rate philosopher who lived alone in a wood, being tired of most humans in any case, to train a person who was not human," but of course the book is about the bird, not him. Macdonald's brilliance is to look into White's entire life, his homosexuality, his traumatic upbringing, and the sadistic tendencies he kept rigorously in check, to produce a psychosexual analysis that would have delighted Freud. Come to think of it, Marie Winn does something rather similar in her ten-page introduction to this edition, perhaps the best preface in any NYRB book that I have read. Either way, it needs this wider perspective. Without it, we get merely an elusive man in an ultimately frustrating struggle with an even more elusive bird. But a great writer.

Witherell I can't begin to imagine where Les Woodland found all the information contained in this fascinating book about the Olympic games. Most of the other of his twenty or so books have generally been about cycling, but I guess that's what happens when you spend your life as a writer. It probably happens a lot; you're researching a subject and there it is, some interesting fact that doesn't have anything to do with what you're working on at the time, but you file it away in the back of your mind. Maybe you can use it somewhere else later. I'll bet you this is exactly how Les Woodland came to write this great book that's not about cycling; he just found so many facts about the Olympics during his years of research that he just had to do it. The result is typical Woodland: a few of the stories we already know--Zola Budd and Mary Decker, or those two feuding figure skaters--but most of what's in here will be new to all but the hardest-core Olympic fans. Things like women who turn out to be men (it seems to happen a lot), or the rower who stopped for a mother duck and her ducklings--and still won his race! How about the time when competitors had to travel for weeks on a boat just to get to the games, and lost all their fitness during the trip. Is NBC aware of this book? If not, they should be. Maybe they could read a few pages to their viewers every day during the London Games, you know to put things in perspective.

Gold Medal Writing By Laurel T Les Woodland has written another charming book, filled with interesting tales from the international sports world's most vaunted stage--the Olympics! In quick order he spins one story after another---each accessible and well-written to give the reader a sense of time and place. The book is filled with familiar names, but the stories are not always familiar. The corrected version Woodland presents of Hitler's reaction to Jesse Owens' triumph is eye-opening, but it's the story he tells of Owens and his German competitor's unlikely friendship that brings a tear to the opened eye. I highly recommend this book to one and all---after reading it, you'll have the inside track on some wonderful story-telling.

Very accessible and alway's a nice sense of humour.Obviously, an enormous amount of research has gone into this book which of course, is one of the reasons it's so interesting.Anyway, no point in repeating all that's gone before, other than, we both thoroughly recommend this book to one and all.L et L.

Collection of sweet stories with a high moral tone. Contains Kitty's Class Day, Aunt Kipp, Psyche's Art, A Country Christmas, On Picket Duty, The Baron's Gloves, My Red Cap, and What the Bells Saw and Said.You might need a dose of insulin after reading these stories, but if you're in the mood for old-fashioned romances, this collection is just the ticket. Sometimes Alcott wears me out with her fulsome praise of modest girls with housewifely skills, but the preaching in most of these tales is done by the characters' lives rather than a heavy-handed author, and the characters themselves are lively and realistically flawed. Only "A Country Christmas" went over the line into sappy and silly. None of them are particularly plausible, of course. "What the Bells Saw and Said" is a clever political fantasy and homage to Dickens, not Alcott's usual style at all. I didn't notice many word errors.

The book aims to provide inspiration that would help a person to succeed in life.Each chapter starts with quotes from various famous people making a point relevant to the topic of the chapter. I really enjoyed the quotes. These quotes are probably the best part of this book.The book does not reveal any big secrets about how to succeed, rather it provides inspiration for being successful. It suggests not to lose your individuality, be able to stand up for your convictions, to find a way to improve on methods people use and finding that something special that is in demand will propel you to making a fortune.Some of the language in the book is rather sexist, for example here is a paragraph from "Seize Your Opportunity":"Of thousands of young women trying to get a living at typewriting, many are so ignorant, so deficient in the common rudiments even, that they spell badly, use bad grammar, and know scarcely anything of punctuation. In fact, they murder the English language. They can copy, "parrot like," and that is about all."When you read old books you notice how the society changed. 41 of 41 people found the following review helpful. A classic that stands the test of time By A Customer Last year I had to do a research paper about three American authors for an English class. I picked Edna Ferber as one of the authors, hoping that I would be able to relate better to a female author. I was at first skeptical about the book, because I'm not a big fan of classic books, but I sat down with it and after a few hours of convincing, I finally opened the book. To this day I'm still glad that I did. The story tells the tale of Fanny, a young independednt Jewish girl from a small midwestern town who's drive to become a business woman soon takes her from the small town she grew up in and plops her down in the middle of a large city where she takes a job as a sales lady, determined to prove herself. Through light humor and a playful tone Ferber shows the reader how Fanny at first struggles, but then succeeds in turning a thriving business completely around, and giving the company a whole new meaning to life. Though at first I didn't think this book would be any good at all, I encourage everyone who has ever strived for a goal in life to read this book--it will give you such a respect and admiration for Fanny that you won't be able to put it down until the very last page.

By Midwest Book Review The daughter of a Hungarian-born father and Milwaukee-native mother, Edna Ferber spent much of her childhood years in small midwestern towns. Her family, while not observant, always closed their store for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, never missing a Passover seder. Ferber felt that being Jewish was to be subjected to anti-Semitism. In 1917 she wrote Fanny Herself, based largely on the experiences she had while growing up in Appleton, Wisconsin and later in Chicago, Illinois. Her's is a tale of a young Jewish girl trying to become a successful businesswoman in early twentieth century America without denying her Jewish roots or subverting her social conscience. What a delightful read By Alison Simard I downloaded this on my kindle as I had never before read anything by her and I have to say its a wonderful read. Its an amazing semi-autobiography narrative of an independent smart businesswoman in a time when women, let alone Jewish women, didn't often pursue business and the influence of environment and family is timeless. I can't wait to read some of her more famous novels -- Giant that became the famous movie and So, Big for which she won the Pulitzer Prize. I googled her and found many fascinating facts about her including the many plays she wrote with George S. Kaufman and the anti-semitism she faced by some of her contemporary authors.Worth the read for a voice on being a woman and being a Jew in an earlier American era. But more so, its value is that it is a well written charachter study and just a really great read. I wish I'd discovered her years ago and I'm excited to jump into her whole collection.

Lady Susan is a short epistolary novel by Jane Austen, possibly written in 1794 but not published until 1871., this epistolary novel, an early complete work that the author never submitted for publication, describes the schemes of the main character—the widowed Lady Susan—as she seeks a new husband for herself and one for her daughter. Although the theme, together with the focus on character study and moral issues, is close to Austen's published work (Sense and Sensibility was also originally written in the epistolary form), its outlook is very different, and the heroine has few parallels in 19th-century literature. Lady Susan is a selfish, unscrupulous and scheming woman, highly attractive to men, who tries to trap the best possible husband while maintaining a relationship with a married man. She subverts all the standards of the romantic novel: she has an active role, she is not only beautiful but intelligent and witty, and her suitors are significantly younger than she is (in contrast with Sense and Sensibility and Emma, which feature marriages by their female protagonists to men who are 16 years older). Although the ending includes a traditional reward for morality, Lady Susan herself is treated more leniently than the adulteress in Mansfield Park, who is severely punished. The main character, at around 30 to 40 years old, she is a widow of just a few months, who is known to flagrantly manipulate and seduce single and married men alike. She uses flirtation and seduction to gain her way through life. As a widow and a mother, her main goals are to quickly marry off her daughter Frederica (whom she despises and regards as stupid and stubborn) to a rich enough man, and to marry an even better match herself. Mrs. Vernon describes her as "...really excessively pretty. I have seldom seen so lovely a woman as Lady Susan. She is delicately fair, with fine grey eyes and dark eyelashes; and from her appearance one would not suppose her more than five and twenty, though she must in fact be ten years older. I was certainly not disposed to admire her...but I cannot help feeling that she possesses an uncommon union of symmetry, brilliancy and grace

This Penguin Classics compilation features one novel unpublished in her lifetime and two unfinished fragments. This book is proof that even an incomplete Austen is better than no Austen at all."Lady Susan" is an epistolary novel whose eponymous anti-heroine, unlike the women featured in Austen's other works, is bad to the bone. When the book opens, Lady Susan, a stunningly beautiful widow in her upper thirties, has just been sent packing from the home of a family she had spent some months with, having been discovered carrying on a flagrant affair with the husband of the family, right under his wife's nose. She takes refuge with her kind-hearted brother and his sensible wife, who sees through Lady Susan from the day she enters the house and can't wait to see her leave.Also in the home are Lady Susan's teenage daughter, who has been expelled from boarding school after attempting to run away so that she won't be forced into marrying the rich, fatuous nobleman her mother has picked out for her; and the younger brother of Lady Susan's sister-in-law, who has heard intimations about Lady Susan's unsavory reputation; in retaliation for his initial disdain, Lady Susan sets out to captivate him and succeeds so well that she has him on the brink of proposing marriage to her, despite the fact that he is 12 years younger than she is, much to the alarm of his family. She has no problem rejecting the town casanova who thinks he's all that and a bag of chips; nor is she especially impressed by the young lord of the manor who is infatuated with her. A footnote to the story says that Jane Austen told her sister how the book was to end; we could have guessed it even without the footnote, but it's a great story and would surely have been included in her major works if only she had lived to complete it."Sanditon" is probably the best known of Austen's unpublished works; it's also a fragment of a novel, very different in content from her finished works. Austen excels in writing about manners and morals; "Sanditon" is more about social commentary, and somehow, it doesn't work as well. The characters in "Sanditon" are not as interesting or compelling as the people in her other works; they are not nearly as well drawn; they're more like sketches or caricatures than three-dimensional persons. It's difficult to tell how she would have ended the book, and there's not really enough interest to the plot to make us want to know. "Sanditon" is the weakest of the three stories in this volume, but "The Watsons" and "Lady Susan" more than make up for its defects. By Mary Whipple Though Lady Susan is considered part of Jane Austen's "juvenilia," having been written ca. 1805, it was not published till well after Jane Austen's death and is still not counted among her "six novels." In fact, this seventh novel, though not as thoughtful or thought-provoking as the "famous six," is one of her wittiest and most spirited. Written in epistolary style, it is the story of Lady Susan, a beautiful, recent widow with no conscience, a woman who is determined to do exactly what she wants to do, to charm and/or seduce any man who appeals to her, and to secure a proper marriage for her teenage daughter, whom she considers both unintelligent and lacking in charm.Lady Susan, the character, has no redeeming qualities, other than her single-mindedness, and her problems, entirely self-imposed, show the extremes to which an unprincipled woman will go to ensure her own pleasure and ultimately a more secure, comfortable life. As Lady Susan manipulates men, women, and even her young nieces and nephews, her venality knows no bounds, and when she determines that her daughter Frederica WILL marry Sir James, a man who utterly repulses her, Lady Susan's love of power and her willingness to create whatever "truth" best suits her purpose become obvious.Austen must have had fun writing this novel which "stars" a character who to appears to be her own opposite. While this novel is not a pure "farce," it is closer to that than anything else Austen ever wrote. Containing humor, the satiric depiction of an aristocratic woman of monstrous egotism, her romantic dalliances and comeuppances, and her ability to land on her feet, no matter what obstacles are thrown in her path, the novel is a light comedy in which the manners and morals of the period are shown in sharp relief--Lady Susan vs. Catherine Vernon, her sensible sister-in-law; the free-wheeling Lady Susan and those who love the city vs. the moral grounding of those who live in the country; the sexual power of an unprincipled woman vs. the "proper ladies" who, along with their husbands, become her victims.While this novel is not as "finished" as her more famous novels (the conclusion is weak), it shows Austen as a more playful novelist than in her other novels, an author who is obviously having fun introducing a wild card like Lady Susan into polite society to show how ill-equipped men are to deal with someone so clever. Not your typical Austen By Southern Housewife This short story is certainly not your typical Austen depicting a heroine's romance and then a happy ending. This story is in the form of letters, which was handled well, but I think limits Austen's story telling ability. In Lady Susan the heroine is in fact a manipulative villain with no redeeming qualities and I found myself frustrated with the other characters reactions to her schemes. I also thought the letter format limited character development and had this been in the form of her more traditional novels it might have been a very interesting story with a meddling mother and her daughter becoming our heroine. Worth a read but if you're a fan of Austen's novels this is quite a change of pace.

It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. Today, the title characters are regarded as archetypal young lovers. Romeo and Juliet belongs to a tradition of tragic romances stretching back to antiquity. Its plot is based on an Italian tale, translated into verse as The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke in 1562 and retold in prose in Palace of Pleasure by William Painter in 1567. Shakespeare borrowed heavily from both but, to expand the plot, developed supporting characters, particularly Mercutio and Paris. Believed to have been written between 1591 and 1595, the play was first published in a quarto version in 1597. This text was of poor quality, and later editions corrected it, bringing it more in line with Shakespeare's original. Titus Andronicus is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1588 and 1593, probably in collaboration with George Peele. It is thought to be Shakespeare's first tragedy, and is often seen as his attempt to emulate the violent and bloody revenge plays of his contemporaries, which were extremely popular with audiences throughout the sixteenth century. The play is set during the latter days of the Roman Empire and tells the fictional story of Titus, a general in the Roman army, who is engaged in a cycle of revenge with Tamora, Queen of the Goths. It is Shakespeare's bloodiest and most violent work and traditionally was one of his least respected plays. Although it was extremely popular in its day, by the later seventeenth century it had fallen out of favour. In the Victorian era, it was disapproved of primarily because of what was considered to be a distasteful use of graphic violence, but from around the middle of the twentieth century its reputation began to improve.

We first started to read some other books with the Old English type writing and I got a C- in this class because I couldnt understand it. We just started reading Romeo and Juliet and I had the same problem so I bought this book. Boy, did it help me! I got an A in my class! Another feature which I liked was how the layout is put side-by-side so if you have to read during class, you'll be able to know where everyone is and if you dont understand it, just go to the other side.

No Fear is the best Shakespeare Ever By Newbia This is only partially a review of the story, but mostly a review on how much I love the No Fear series. It's SO useful. You have Shakespeare on one page, and the 'translation' into modern English on one page. I understand Shakespeare so much better now. I thought I understood Shakespeare when I read version where you have a footnote at the bottom saying what 'grandshire phrase' or something means. I did get the gist of it, but now I understand what the characters are saying and feeling, and I get all the little jokes. I can appreciate Shakespeare now, which was impossible before (then again, I'm only 12, it's probably easier for other people).Not to mention in other versions I would read a little bit, glance down at the footnotes, read, glance down, re-read to find the word in the footnote, et cetera and it was very tedious. Now I just read a page of Shakespeare and then a page of modern, or vice versa. I do vice versa because then I understand how the character feels before reading the lines out loud, making this version very useful for putting on the play.There is one problem. In most editions, you have various essays and notes. They don't have this in here. I don't take of stars for this because I personally never read the essays, but some people might.Anyway, the story itself. Shakespeare is very poetic, and you can appreciate it more if you know what he's talking about. How ever, I hate 'love at first sight' with a burning passion. If you get over that, the characters and plot are engaging.I read this because I was in the play. But this edition is so good I'm going to read other Shakespeare plays for my own enjoyment.

Great Kindle Version By MsEnglishTeacher I am a high school English teacher looking at the different versions of classics texts available for Kindle (fire), so my review will not be for the play itself, but rather for the eBook--readability, layout, price, and other features.This version of Romeo and Juliet is my favorite 99 cent version for several reasons. First, there are links to each act and scene. Next, the page layout is clean and easy to read with spaces between each speaker. Finally, the line formatting is in the correct iambic pentameter format, though there are no line numbers. There are no annotations or explanations, but none of the good 99 cent versions provide that either. Bottom line, easy to use!
