Back in the old days before the turn of the century, I backpacked a lot and have been wanting to go on an outing this summer, so I downloaded this book so I could catch up and remind myself of what might be involved. Since I haven't been on the trail in 30 years, I consider myself somewhat of a beginner again. The author, Adahy Hunt is right when he says it's a fantastic way to get in touch with the wild. Nothing at all like camping in a campground with a bunch of other folks running their RV generators and noisy kids running around. If you take your kids up the hill they are not going to be running around all that much. The author covers everything you might need in this book from pack, tents, bags, footwear, clothes, food, maps and advises we buy quality because you only have to pay for it once. Very inspirational book for anyone who like me, wants to get back to nature or someone who's never tried it.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. you will plan well on your next trip with the help of this book By Rohit well i am nature lover, i keep searching for places where i can hike into or where i can be away from busy life. wilds are first thing get in my mind. i prefer to camp with friends rather than going with organised camps. i wanted this book badly which explains about what are necessary backpacking items i should be carrying with without missing. most of time when i was trying my adventurous hiking i used to forget lot of basic items but now with the help of this book i can be planned very well.

I must admit that I read all 5 chapters in book, this is why I am more calm and ready for our adventure! It is good to read that kind of a book before you go out in nature, because it helps you to understand exactly what you need to take with you and what is not so necessary.
