The book has been an amazing guide at getting him going, and has everything within its pages that you need in order to embark on the path of leading a healthy life, building muscle, and changing your eating habits so that you get the results you want as quickly as you can, and maintain them over time. The book is well written, and does everything that it sets out to do. It is a good choice if you are looking at make this life change for yourself, or if you know someone else that is.

Very detailed and shows he knows the real knowledge of bodybuilder. The cover is good and relevant. Wheres recipes at the end of it that are half the book. It cover what foods to eat and when, same with exercises. For example he says the omega 6 and 9 are good essential fats. good job writer.

I found the constant changes in POV far too regular and that frustrated me. I wasn’t given enough time to familiarize myself with one member of the family before I was being thrust upon another.I had the same problem with the time differences and I had to make a conscious effort to push through my misgivings and carry on because if I hadn’t this book would have ended up on the DNF (did-not-finish) pile less than 100 pages in!It’s not that it was a bad book in any way, the writing is well developed and the story has merit – a little romance, some mystery, but it was all just a bit ordinary. I mean, I’m sure there are plenty of readers that will love this slowly paced family saga; I just found the time shifts and multiple points of view a little overdone and it made the flow of the book too clunky for me. And I prefer my family dramas more real, heated, scandalous, and full of gasp worthy moments – A Place For Us was just too safe and vanilla for my tastes.Still a good if safe read, 3.5 stars.

A Place For Us By Jennifer @ Bookish Devices When Martha, a wife and mother of three, sits down to write the invitations to her eightieth birthday celebration, she knows that what she is planning to reveal could ruin the life she and her husband David have spent over fifty years building…but she has to let her family know what she and David have sacrificed. She can’t live a lie any more. The invitation goes out, calling her three children and their families back home. They are Bill, the doctor; Florence, the eccentric academic; and Daisy, the child who never fit in.The premise of this book was intriguing but I don't feel the author was able to pull it off. It started off well enough but the story quickly became disjointed and didn't flow seamlessly. The story switched between time periods and I think the story would have been better told and better developed had it been told in chronological order.There was this build up to the big reveal ... then nothing. The big reveal felt like a brick wall. I was thinking "so what?" I didn't feel the tension or drama I thought the scene warranted. Parts of the story were underdeveloped (like the big reveal) in my opinion and other portions went on much longer than needed.Towards the end I began to skim because I wanted the story to be over with. A woman on the eve of her eightieth birthday chooses to reveal secrets, that may destroy her family.From 1948 to the present, starting out in August, 2012, Martha Winters is approaching eighty years old and she realizes she cannot put off the inevitable. She has to come clean with her family. What has prompted her to now tell the truth after all these years? The beautiful exterior of the home definitely does not match the chaos of the interior family members.Mother of three, and wife of David for over fifty years, they had not always had money. But she has to let her family know what she and David have sacrificed. She can’t live a lie any more. She had forgotten nothing, nothing that had happened before or afterward. The secrets every family acquires, some small-little indiscretions, tiny jokes. Some big, too big for her to bear anymore. They both were from gray worlds and suddenly there was art, and music and poetry and things she had never experienced.Bill, (doctor) Daisy (the one who never fit in), Florence (eccentric academic). Every home had Wilbur tea towel, pencil case, book of cartoon strips. But back then Wilbur was in the future and the Winters had nothing much, except each other. Only Martha and David knew what they’d gone through to get to the moment when they stood on the lawn that hot day in 1967 and decided they’d buy Winterfold.As the book progresses we hear from a variety of characters, alternating between each of the family members. There are many members of this family saga, and they each have their own dramas. If you are patient and enjoy an even slower pace to learn the background of each character, you will enjoy the secrets as they unfold.Bill is struggling with problems in his second marriage and feels inferior around his younger wife, Karen with his older daughter Lucy. Florence, the baby, a professor of art history, has been overlooked both professionally and personally, lives in Florence. Daisy, the middle child, has been out of pocket in India, a charity worker raising money for schools who has not been home in years with a daughter Cat who lives in Paris whom they raised after Daisy left. David also wants the truth told before he dies, as it may be close. We also hear from Joe, the caterer and chef.We do not hear from Martha again until almost fifty percent through the book, and I was dying to hear her story, since this is her party. I will have to agree with some of the other reviewers, a little too slow for me as why the 3 star rating. Like I am rushing to get to the secret, and then it happens. I would have enjoyed more from David and Martha (found their past very intriguing) and less from the drama filled children; however, realize all parts are an integral component to the plot.However, I was not completely emotionally connected to the characters, as they all seemed at arm’s length. Possibly due to the multiple characters, layering, and dysfunction, not sure I can pinpoint one thing. Evans does take her time introducing each character, and we travel back and forth in time to blend the storylinesThe book is broken down into Parts and we hear from almost each child and spouses, and children in each, so a lot of back and forth and time periods.Part One: The Invitation (introduction)Part Two: The Party (cliff hanger)Part Three: The Past and the Present (more from each member of the family and their part)Park Four: The End and the Beginning (Summary of why Winterfold was so important to this couple)And EpilogueA Place for Us is my first book by Evans. I almost felt exhausted when completing. I have felt similar when attempting to read Maeve Binchy and Jan Karon's books, as almost like work, taking away the pleasure, as not a big fan of this style. I do however, enjoy a good secret reveal especially from an older parent, keeping quiet until towards the end of their life. Making me always wonder what my parents are holding back, now that they are in their mid- eighties.

Androcles and the Lion, by George Bernard Shaw

About the Author BERNARD SHAW was born in Dublin in 1856. After his arrival in London in 1876 he became an active Socialist and a brilliant platform speaker. He wrote on many social aspects of the day: on Common Sense about the War (1914), How to Settle the Irish Question (1917) and The Intelligent Woman's Guide to Socialism and Capitalism (1928). He undertook his own education at the British Museum and consequently became keenly interested in cultural subjects. Thus his prolific output included music, art and theatre reviews, which were collected into several volumes such as Music in London 1890-1894 (3 vols, 1931); Pen Portraits and Reviews (1931); and Our Theatres in the Nineties (3 vols, 1931). He also wrote five novels and some shorter fiction, including The Black Girl in Search of God and Some Lesser Tales and Cashel Byron's Profession, both published in Penguin's Bernard Shaw Library. He conducted a strong attack on the London theatre and was closely associated with the intellectual revival of British theatre. His plays fall into several categories: 'Plays Pleasant'; 'Plays Unpleasant'; comedies; chronicle-plays; 'metabiological Pentateuch' (Back to Methuselah, a series of plays); and 'political extravaganzas'. Bernard Shaw died in 1950.

In the case of Androcles and the Lion, the preface is Shaw's disquisition on Christianity -- he explains it and the Gospels, in his inimitable way -- for over a hundred pages. The preface to Androcles and the Lion is one of Shaw's masterpieces...and is MISSING from this edition. Could it possibly be that this is because those putting this travesty of Shaw's work out do not want Christian readers seeing Shaw's explanation?

Sanctity of forced conversions By Claude Lambert You can count on Shaw to depict conversion like this: there is a big fighter coming along and shaking you up until he converts you. Later on, we call the man a saint. It is outrageous, and funny. It is also mainly true: Europe was converted to christianity more by the will of kings and armies than by the internal musings of the population. Shaw has an explanation for miracles too. I do not think you need to read the preface to get the gist of what he says. Most of the prefaces of his plays are long, interesting and dated. There is no preface in this edition. Shaw makes his philosophical positions very clear in his work, for instance in the Preface of Mrs. Warren's Profession he says that he had "no respect for popular morality, no beief in popular religion, no admiration for popular heroics."But you do not have to share Shaw's views to enjoy the plays. Like, a genuinely strange series of words arranged in a weird order to create a story unlike most. And I say that with happiness, not judgment.Hellmaw is an urban fantasy, reimagined, and tossed on its head in a dark and imaginative way. I think the closest comparison I could make would be to Hellblazer (Or Constantine, the movie made about Hellblazer) or perhaps Neil Gaiman's American Gods.In short; Hellmaw presents us with a world filled with strange and wondrous creatures that are just beyond the corners of our eyes, and they've been here for a very long time, indeed. The primary characters of this novel are demons. Evil, straight from what passes for hell in this universe. They are not good in any sense we would want to ascribe to them, but they are complex and interesting, and have full and... rich lives. When they speak, they feel alien, and when they interact with the unknowing (or rarely, knowing) humans they live among, it feels like a stranger trying to pretend like he's part of the group.Ed Greenwood came to success with TSR then Wizards of the Coast, developing their deep and rich Forgotten Realms world. He's written nearly thirty novels set in that world, and if you've read them, Hellmaw: Your World is Doomed will feel like a strange conversation with a close friend. Unnerving and bizarre, but familiar and enticing all the same. I will say that there are more than one scene in the book that raised my hackles due to... otherwordly desires, and they felt a little out of place to me as I listened to them. I was still entertained, but the scenes of demonic, carnal lust are exactly that. Not for the squeamish, let's say.Charles Constant's narration is entertaining and fluid, especially in the scenes that feature the demons. Have I mentioned there are people in this book too? They just didn't matter as much as the demons, and I'm okay with that. I'll have to take a breather from the Hellmaw series, as I found it to be intense, but a little searching about showed me that there were a few more titles out there written by other authors, and that seems like a premise I'd like to investigate.Hellmaw: Your World is Doomed is a wonderful, dark and funny experiment in urban fantasy that I think many would love, and many would run away from, terrified. I don't think that's a bad thing though. 7 of 11 people found the following review helpful. I wasn't sure who to cheer for, and that was cool! By August Hellmaw: Your World is Doomed! Probaly isn’t something I would have picked up off a shelf. It’s not quite the sort of book I normally go after, but I have been trying to expand my reading tastes, so diving into Hellmaw made sense. As such, it’s hard to really compare it to other books of its like I’ve read, because I haven’t read anything quite like this. It isn’t fair to compare it to other genres where I am more widely read, because this doesn’t fit into any of those categories. This is my disclaimer. I’m going to do my best to review this neutrally, but if my tastes are a bit colored by other genres I’m more “into”, I apologize. So take this with a grain of salt.To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t completely sure who I should be rooting for in this novel. Clearly, as a human, I was more intrigued with the human characters, and I sympathized with them better than the daemons. But I did find the daemons intriguing, even though much of how you see them is through the humans’ eyes, and they’re so foreign that they come off as, well, demonic (or daemonic). Aum, Jult, Shame, and the other daemons would have been so easy to detest due to the simple fact they’re not human, and they see us clearly as no more than a food source. But what’s the real issue underlying this novel: the human/daemon disjoint or the daemon war? Would one be better if the other wasn’t an issue? This really isn’t addressed, but I really got to thinking after I finished the novel. Who are the real bad guys, all daemons (simply by dint of being what they are) or one side of them? And if the latter, which side? It’s sort of enjoyable to think about. In truth, I think I’ve gotten more out of this book after reading it, just pondering, than I did while actually reading it.There’s some good entertainment value to this book, especially if you’re into adult content. It wasn’t overly graphic, but there is some… well, some daemons can turn into tentacle monsters or shapeshift in other ways. I’ll put it that way. The narrative and plot are very raw at points, but if you look at it as top-of-the-foodchain sentients doing what they will to their livestock… yeah, that doesn’t make it any better. Humans are, as is a repeated theme, cattle. We are cattle, and the daemons behave as though we are such.Did I enjoy this book? Sure. Will I pick up the next in line? Sure, why not. Will I be going nuts and waiting with bated breath for it? Not really, but I am curious to see what happens to the humans. Especially Nast. I didn’t like any of the humans more than the others, but some developments toward the end made Nast’s storyline much more intriguing to me, so I’ll come back for him if for nothing else.

The book is terrifying and dark, but compelling. Once I read the first chapter, I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. Warning: this is NOTHING like his Tor books or the Realms. It's frank, raw, and new...but still Ed. A must read.
