By KC It is a good prepper's guide before and on your camping day. Though it is more on cleaning and maintaining your RV, there's a bunch of simple hacks here that we usually overlook. It is really vital to do preventive measure rather than trying to fix things when you are already camping. As the book says, "Plan for the worst, hope for the best."This is a good 2 in 1 book that encourage you to spend time and money now to save more of your time and money in the future. Delivered as the title promised. Worth reading for those who wants happy and stress-free camping.

Childhood is a stage in the process of that continual remanufacture of the Life Stuff by which the human race is perpetuated. The Life Force either will not or cannot achieve immortality except in very low organisms: indeed it is by no means ascertained that even the amoeba is immortal. Human beings visibly wear out, though they last longer than their friends the dogs. Turtles, parrots, and elephants are believed to be capable of outliving the memory of the oldest human inhabitant. But the fact that new ones are born conclusively proves that they are not immortal. Do away with death and you do away with the need for birth: in fact if you went on breeding, you would finally have to kill old people to make room for young ones.

Jackson This collection of essays about the relationship between parents and children and also bringing up children in regards to manners, rules and schools is kind of amazing. I found myself highlighting many passages so I could go back to find them. Shaw was more than a brilliant playwright, but he was also a great thinker on the human condition in general.

San Francisco Chronicle Notable Book of the Year

Boston Globe’s “Best Fiction of 2014”

Roxane Gay’s Top Ten Books of the Year

An Amazon Best Short Story Collection of 2014

An iBook Best of 2014

A refreshingly imaginative, daring debut collection of stories which illuminates with audacious wit the complexity of human behavior, as seen through the lens of the natural world.

Told with perfect rhythm and unyielding brutality, these stories expose unsuspecting men and women to the realities of nature, the primal instincts of man, and the dark humor and heartbreak of our struggle to not only thrive, but survive. In “Girl on Girl,” a high school freshman goes to disturbing lengths to help an old friend. An insatiable temptress pursues the one man she can’t have in “Meteorologist Dave Santana.” And in the title story, a long fraught friendship comes undone when three buddies get impossibly lost on a lake it is impossible to get lost on. In Diane Cook’s perilous worlds, the quotidian surface conceals an unexpected surreality that illuminates different facets of our curious, troubling, and bewildering behavior.

Other stories explore situations pulled directly from the wild, imposing on human lives the danger, tension, and precariousness of the natural world: a pack of not-needed boys take refuge in a murky forest and compete against each other for their next meal; an alpha male is pursued through city streets by murderous rivals and desirous women; helpless newborns are snatched by a man who stalks them from their suburban yards. Through these characters Cook asks: What is at the root of our most heartless, selfish impulses? Why are people drawn together in such messy, complicated, needful ways? When the unexpected intrudes upon the routine, what do we discover about ourselves?

As entertaining as it is dangerous, this accomplished collection explores the boundary between the wild and the civilized, where nature acts as a catalyst for human drama and lays bare our vulnerabilities, fears, and desires.

Man V. Nature: Stories, by Diane Cook

Review “Diane Cook’s writing is sharp, bawdy, bold and often hilarious. Her stories are refreshingly crude and her imagination is unbounded. Like her characters, Cook does what she wants. Her world is another universe, where people are wilder.” (Rebecca Curtis, author of TWENTY GRAND: AND OTHER TALES OF LOVE AND MONEY)“What I like most about these stories is that many of them are dispatches from the end of the world, and it turns out to be a surprisingly familiar place.” (Ira Glass, Host, "This American Life")“Diane Cook’s stories are like high-wattage bulbs strung across a sinister, dark land. Man V. Nature is equal parts dazzle and depth.” (Ramona Ausubel, author of No One is Here Except All of Us and A Guide to Being Born)“Man v. Nature is a knockout…every single story could make a great movie…‘Somebody’s Baby’ completely captures the crippling, animal-like vigilance of early motherhood. I had to put the book down and just sob, and I was thrilled at the same time, thinking: ‘It works! This medium really works!’” (Miranda July, New York Times Book Review)“This week, I have been reading the most astonishing book, MAN V. NATURE by Diane Cook. The stories are surreal, with the sharpest edge and in one way or another, each story reveals something raw and powerful about being human in a world where so little is in our control.” (Roxane Gay)“MAN V. NATURE is as close to experiencing a Picasso as literature can get: the worlds in Diane Cook’s impressive debut are bizarre, vertiginous, funny, pushed to the extreme-but just familiar enough in their nuances of the human condition to evoke an irresistible, around-the-corner reality.” (Tea Obreht, author of THE TIGER'S WIFE)“Man V. Nature could also be called Diane Cook V. The Challenges of Writing Fresh, Invigorating Fiction in Our Age. In the latter contest, Cook crushes. Here is a bold debut.” (Sam Lipsyte, author of HOME LAND)“Here’s a good rule: If Diane Cook wrote it, read it…Safety is tenuous, if not an illusion, in her thoughtful, unsettling, and darkly funny collection.” (Boston Globe)“This debut story collection takes the familiar narrative conflict and applies it to contemporary characters. The capriciousness of the natural world in Cook’s stories colors them with a Romantic, almost surreal light that fans of Megan Mayhew Bergman are sure to appreciate.” (Huffington Post, "Best Books of the Fall")“Masterful…Each darkly comic modern fable reveals our societal preoccupations -- with status, sex, motherhood, belonging -- for what they really are: thin veneers over our ever-present animal selves, ready to crack at the merest provocation. A book that’ll grab your attention and keep you thinking.” (Helene Wecker, author of THE GOLEM AND THE JINNI)“Lively, apocalypse-tinged tales…Cook mines the moments that precede the losses-when the battles are truly raging-and it’s in them that she finds great beauty and strangeness…And, in the end, this collection suggests, meaning might be worth the battle.” (New York Times Book Review)“[Cook] puts forth idiosyncratic and twisted conceits, but delivers the narrative goods when it comes to depicting the tragic, emotional lives of her characters… Like the best kind of fiction, the reader is left with much to think about within the broad realms of sex, death, love and friendship.” (San Francisco Chronicle)“A dark pleasure...In ‘Meteorologist Dave Santana’ sex happens less often than the desperate, older woman (the meteorologist’s neighbor) would like. Cook is a young woman imagining an older woman’s need, and not charitably. But if Cook is anything like me, that desperate neighbor is herself. I’ve never really felt young.” (Miranda July, Goodreads "Good Minds Suggest")“Masterly.” (New York Times "Paperback Row")“Seethes with heat, rejection and twisted perception…I found myself enthralled by all of the stories in this collection. Not only are they surprising, but also fresh, funny, sad, often surreal and oddly true.” (Omnivoracious)“Quirkiness abounds, with several fairy-tale tropes thrown in for good measure...Some stories jump off the page...all are oddly charming.” (Publishers Weekly)“I couldn’t pry myself away from MAN V. NATURE . . . The stories are grim, violent, and darkly funny, but never so far removed from our most human urges to seem TOTALLY implausible.” (Buzzfeed, "5 Great Books to Read in December")“Potent and unnerving…stark spookiness in the vein of Shirley Jackson and William Golding…[and] a lonely weirdness like that of Aimee Bender and George Saunders…Cook writes assuredly of archetypal terror and even more insightfully of hunger-for food, friendship, love, and above all, survival. A canny, refined, and reverberating debut.” (Donna Seaman, Booklist)“Hunger, despair, and perpetual awe for the collapsing natural world and the vulnerability of existence therein. Apply liberally before exposure to the elements. Contents include truth and other known allergens.” (Flavorwire, "28 Feminist Writers Recommend Books Every Man Should Read")“This past month I discovered Diane Cook and had many moments of story-delight, really just too many to count, because Diane Cook is that good. . . . Cook’s writing is lively and frank.” (Impose Magazine)“MAN V. NATURE may be Diane Cook’s first book, but the former “This American Life” producer’s work is impressively precocious--making it our favorite short-story collection of October.” (GQ)“Irresistible reading...The author probes her characters’ psychological depths in weird and wonderful ways...With MAN V. NATURE Cook makes a bold, original debut.” (San Jose Mercury News)“Beautifully written dystopian short story collection.” (Jezebel)“When people ask me the desert island question, I usually say this is the book I’d bring...Her stories about survival amid the brutalities of nature are bracing primers for the apocalypse. (San Francisco Weekly, "10 Bay Area Women You Should Read Now")

Nature is a collection of short stories so imaginative and so beautifully written that I honestly can't say I've ever read anything quite like them. At the same time, they are so bleak and dystopian that at times I was tempted to stop reading. Not exactly what I wanted before bedtime! Each story is a fully realized depiction of a strange, even surreal world that bears considerable resemblance to ours...refracted through a nightmare. A flooded town where only a few lucky neighbors still live in their homes, one embracing all the displaced, the other spurning them entirely. Three friends who are stranded in the middle of a lake and one discovers that his friendship with the other two was a farce. A woman who's obsessed with her neighbor, a TV weatherman. A violent city where the streets are peopled by marauding gangs and a family tried to survive with a child who quickly grows outlandishly large. A woman whose good fortune attracts hordes of people to her home until she has no privacy, no life except caring for their needs. And perhaps the most disturbing, a world where the state declares certain ten-year-old boys "not needed" and takes them away to be incinerated...unless they escape.Man v. Nature is a dark, dark book--the kind where it's hard to stop reading even as you're profoundly disturbed by what's on the page. It's that darkness that prompted me to deduct a star. This is literary fiction--make no mistake--but there is an undercurrent of brutality, where the unthinkable--and unimaginable--are commonplace and ordinary people find themselves carried along a tide transporting them to strange, untimely ends.

Captivating collection By Amazon Customer I read Diane Cook's short story "Bounty" in Harper's magazine and was intrigued, so I picked this up, her first collection of stories ("Bounty" was retitled "The Way the End of Days Should Be" for this collection).Cook said in an interview "I like thinking about the ways that people are still animals -- possess animal...ways but also try to hide and deny that lineage with civilization, rules, structures, rational thinking." In the stories, civilization has broken down, or people have become cut off from it, or it has devolved in some way, and the characters respond in surprising, sometimes animal ways. The stories have an element of the surreal, but they are grounded in recognizable human behavior. "It's Coming," for example, takes place in a world where mass attacks are everyday occurrences, but it's also a darkly humorous send-up of office politics. The best stories, such as the title story and the two I've already mentioned, follow vivid characters through often unusual situations. The prose is succinct and the story flows seemingly effortlessly.I didn't love all the stories. In some, like "Somebody's Baby," the surrealism seems to take over the story, and what is revealed about the characters is less interesting than in other stories. But I appreciate that Cook is trying to do something different and interesting, and when she succeeds, the stories are captivating.

13 of 14 people found the following review helpful. There's craft here, but the stories didn't engage me as I'd hoped they would By P. Mann The stories in this collection are characterized by the bizarre, almost in a science-fiction way. In the first story, "Moving On," the narrator's husband dies, so she is sent to a "women's shelter," which is, in the world of the story, a place where young, no longer married women go to forget about their husbands and perhaps be chosen by another man so that they can leave and resume married life. (There is also a men's shelter across the way.) In "Girl on Girl," a high-school frosh sees her former friend apparently being beaten in a school bathroom and tells teachers what has happened. But was the victim really a victim when she seemed to encourage the beating? And if it was a beating, why was it at the hands of the victim's friends? In "Marrying Up," the narrator goes through husbands rather quickly, first marrying for love, then marrying a stronger man, and then marrying a much stronger man. She needs to because the world "got bad," and her husbands go outside only to be attacked by hoards. Violence, it seems, is always right outside the front door. In "Flotsam," a woman with more than one male lover finds that every time she does laundry, children's clothes somehow appear amid her clothing. The other eight stories follow, to varying degrees, similar patterns. In general, I simply did not find the stories emotionally engaging. They seem like exercises in metaphor or allegory. In some, like "Moving On," I had the sense that there was an important point but that I simply couldn't see it. In others, like "Flotsam," I got the point pretty quickly but still failed to see why it needed to be made in the way it was.To be sure, I admired the craft in a few of the stories. But I found them somewhat cold and distant, and, taken as a whole, the book seemed to be much of the same from story to story. Had I read one, two, or three stories, I think I might have found them worth contemplating and studying. Then again, that's just my reaction. I love reading, especially love the short story form, and yet found myself curiously at a distance here.

Out for a walk in London one day, Gip and his father happen upon a magic shop. At Gip's urging, the two go in — and things grow more and more curious by the minute. Counters, store fixtures, and mirrors seem to move around the room, and the shopkeeper is most mysterious of all. Gip is thrilled by all he sees, and his father is at first amused, but when things become stranger and sinister father is no longer sure where reality ends and illusion begins. Fantastical illustrations underscore the macabre atmosphere of the tale, make this a perfect book read aloud together again and again.

The Magic Shop, by H. G. Wells

From School Library Journal Grade 7 Up–Originally published in The Country of the Blind and Other Stories (Nelson, 1913), The Magic Shop evokes the mood that results from observing the unexplained and the unexpected. A boy and his father are drawn into a magic shop by the marvelous items on display in the window. However, what begins as entertainment in response to the fathers request for a few amusing tricks for his son–some sleight-of-hand performed by the shopkeeper, some seemingly magical toy soldiers–soon becomes unnerving. Rocas dark oil paintings, set in an earlier London of hansom cabs, men in high collars and bowler hats, and little boys in sailor suits, contain elements both surreal and sinister, appropriately echoing the mood of the story. Small ink drawings of yesteryears toys–clown, kewpie doll, metal plane–also appear as orange-colored prints on the endpapers. The absence of introductory material on H. G. Wells and his writings is noticeable; the audience for an illustrated edition of this particular tale would seem to be limited.–Susan Scheps, Shaker Heights Public Library, OH Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. From Booklist Gr. 4-6. Out for an innocent stroll in London, a man and his young son happen on a magic shop. Curious, they go inside, where, in short order and to the father's increasing discomfort, they discover the place is not just any magic shop, it's the Genuine Magic shop--and there's no way out. First published in 1903, this minor tale from the father of sf is starting to show its age, but despite its leisurely pace and fussy diction, it still manages to offer readers a few frissons. Happily, the text is helped significantly by Roca's creepy, vaguely menacing, full-page color illustrations. The Wells name and the sophisticated art will doubtless attract some readers older than the main audience. Michael CartCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved

By Philip Lyon Excellent, but it needs footnotes related to when it was written in the early 20th century to put its various references into better context. The illustrations were successfully magical but sometimes didn't follow the text. The magician seems based on Alfred Hitchcock's TV episode with the clerk looking like DavidOpatoshu, who's probably best remembered for hos role on Star Trek as Anan 7 in "a Taste of Armageddon.Enjoy!

It is the book that gave me my love for reading. It kinda transported me, if you will, to another place and sparked my imagination. I have since read it with my daughters and now will be reading it to my grand daughter. What a fun book.

The proprietor playfully shows off his magic skills for the boy. At a point, the magic starts to get a little too genuine. And that is when the story starts to get a bit creepy.Loved it!5 STARS

Les Diaboliques (French Edition), by Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly

'All the men I did get to know filled me with but one desire: to lift my hand and bring it smashing down on his face.'

So begins Firdaus's remarkable story of rebellion against a society founded on lies, hypocrisy, brutality and oppression. Born to a peasant family in the Egyptian countryside, Firdaus struggles through childhood, seeking compassion and knowledge in a world which gives her little of either. As she grows up and escapes the fetters of her childhood, each new relationship teaches her a bitter but liberating truth – that the only free people are those who want nothing, fear nothing and hope for nothing.

This classic novel has been an inspiration to countless people across the world. Saadawi's searing indictment of society's brutal treatment of women continues to resonate today.

By Sally Awesome I had to read this book for a Non-Western Literature college course, and intitially I was suffering through it so I wouldn't look like a fool when called on in class. However, when I actually sat down and thought about the true meaning behind this book, I was blown away by the empowerment and strength it offered. It takes a little while to realize what the author is really trying to get through the reader's head, but once he or she catches it, it will open eyes.

I had the kindle edition so it was a 3 hour read that I read in one day because I was that enthralled by the story. I recommend this to any adult reader especially women.

King Henry Vi, Part 1, by William Shakespeare

About the Author Arguably the greatest English-language playwright, William Shakespeare was a seventeenth-century writer and dramatist, and is known as the Bard of Avon. Under the patronage of Queen Elizabeth I, he penned more than 30 plays, 154 sonnets, and numerous narrative poems and short verses. Equally accomplished in histories, tragedies, comedy, and romance, Shakespeare s most famous works include Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew, and As You Like It.

Like many of his contemporaries, including Christopher Marlowe, Shakespeare began his career on the stage, eventually rising to become part-owner of Lord Chamberlain s Men, a popular dramatic company of his day, and of the storied Globe Theatre in London.

Extremely popular in his lifetime, Shakespeare s works continue to resonate more than three hundred years after his death. His plays are performed more often than any other playwright s, have been translated into every major language in the world, and are studied widely by scholars and students.

Good for actors, not especially fun casual reading material By Elizabeth This is definitely not one of Shakespeare's best, but if you're a girl and you need a Shakespeare monologue for a class or audition and you want an obscure one, Joan of Arc has some nice monologues. That said, I used one for a class, had a disagreement with the professor over whether or not Joan genuinely believes she's both pregnant and a virgin, and got a C on the performance based mainly on this interpretive difference. Take that as you will.

JOAN OF ARC' s character was portrayed in a very different light than that which is typically shown in HISTORICAL biographies. It was also interesting to see how the war of the roses began.

Kelnaria is a planet not so very close to ours. A planet very much like our own with different races, different climates, lands, water and all manner of creatures from very small to very large. Kelnaria was created by a group of powerful beings called The Mystics. In our eyes, they would be Gods, but in truth, Gods are simply another race of beings with abilities that we don't understand, but for some reason, like to create worlds and creatures, and sometimes...prophecies.This world was to be filled with peace and tranquility in a land for the harmonious Mystics to love as parents, and love their children with all of the species that they created to inhabit their world. They welcomed beings from other planets to come and visit, or stay, in their creations. However, being Gods of tranquility, love and peace, this was their first mistake in thinking that all other creatures were of the same like and kindness.Soon it will be inevitable that all will fight over dominance, even if they don't realize what it is they are fighting for.

Now I, Allan Quatermain, come to the story of what was, perhaps, one of the strangest of all the adventures which have befallen me in the course of a life that so far can scarcely be called tame or humdrum. Amongst many other things it tells of the war against the Black Kendah people and the dead of Jana, their elephant god. Often since then I have wondered if this creature was or was not anything more than a mere gigantic beast of the forest. It seems improbable, even impossible, but the reader of future days may judge of this matter for himself.

23 of 23 people found the following review helpful. A RIPPING GOOD YARN! By s.ferber This is another of the 14 Allan Quatermain tales from the pen of that great adventure fantasist, H. Rider Haggard. This novel is a direct continuation of "Allan and the Holy Flower," and it does help to have read the previous book. Also referenced are other Quatermain novels such as "Marie," "Child of Storm" and "Allan's Wife," and while a knowledge of these earlier books will make for a richer experience, "Ivory Child" can certainly be read on its own. In this one, Quatermain goes on a quest to find his buddy's kidnapped wife (in that respect, it is similar to "Holy Flower"), but also gets involved in a lost tribe's civil war. Thrown into the mix are a gigantic and evil elephant god, a monster snake guardian (the possible inspiration for all those snake gods in Robert E. Howard's Conan tales), several great battle scenes, psychic visions, drug use, a hailstorm, Egyptology, a shooting competition, a sandstorm, etc. Haggard throws quite a bit into this one to ensure a good time. And for fans of Hans, Quatermain's heroic and amusing Hottentot sidekick, this one provides quite a little tearjerker ending. It's all wonderfully pulpy and quite amusing; a ripping good yarn, as they used to say. So seek this one out on Amazon it'll reward your efforts!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Haggard does it again! By Michael Hawks H. Rider Haggard was a great writer of African adventure stories, and The Ivory Child is no exception. This is another adventure to rescue a fair damsel in distress from the clutches of a tribe in Africa. In that regard it is much like Allan and the Holy Flower. If you are a fan of H. Rider Haggard you will want to read this book!

Instant classic By Christopher I just finished my first read-through of Intervention, and I've got to say that for the fitness professional, it might be the single most important book I've ever read. For those familiar with Dan John, it will come as no surprise that the information is logical, systematic, packed with common sense, and yet presented in a way that makes you say "I never thought of it that way." I found that it simultaneously challenges and validates much of what I've done over the past 25 years, but that I'm neglecting one of the fundamental human movements. As Dan notes, it's something I know I should be doing--and even program for other people--but find reasons not to do myself. This one's a classic, for sure.

By Scott Iardella, MPT, CSCS, CISSN If you don't know who Dan John is, he's a legend in strength training.I was curious if Coach Dan could possibly write a book as important as his previous work "Never Let Go," which is in a class by itself."Intervention" is an outstanding book by an authentic expert in the area of strengthening and conditioning. This book exceeded my expectations.I knew it would be good, but wasn't sure how he could possibly top the work of Never Let Go."intervention" is a system. 10 questions, 5 principles that can completely change the way you train or work with clients. If you're in the fitness industry, this is an absolute "MUST READ" to get rid the clutter and truly understand what is most important.I was blown away by the content. A simplistic approach to focusing on what really matters. If you want to improve your own training, read this book. And, certainly if you want to improve others and really help people, read this book.Insightful, practical, and superbly written. Focus on the fundamentals. Dan does a wonderful job of explaining why this is critical in our training. And, the 2 biggest objectives we all should focus on are clearly explained. This is breakthrough information, in my opinion.Programs, philosophy, and no fluff, zero! An instant classic? Absolutely. I truly hope that this book gets into the hands of many and people implement intervention. An outstanding read from start to finish! Pure brilliance!!I highly recommend getting this book and setting yourself apart by following the "intervention" system.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. 'Intervention' By R One of the best reasons to buy Dan John's books is that he's a funny read as well as an insightful coach.A natural raconteur, the author intersperses many of the chapters with anecdotes and snapshots of everyday life that lift the book above just being a bare matter of rep schemes, discussion of exercise selection etc. It was having enjoyed 'Never let go' on that basis that swayed me towards ordering 'Intervention'.That's not to say that this wouldn't be an invaluable resource even if it was reduced to bare bones. The author does, in fact, repeatedly distill down his message and points out, in fact, that a lot of the time he feels he is telling athletes perfectly obvious or even common sense things: 'Fundamental human movements are fundamental', 'eat like an adult'...One of the key points I took away from 'Intervention' is the value in accurately determining what your training needs are relative to the pressures and time-constraints of other aspects of life. A full-time job, some niggling injuries and an additional factor like a new baby or impending marriage (for example) doesn't go hand-in-hand with implementing a programme that was designed to get someone ready for a special forces pre-selection course, or football combine tests... And yet, that is what many of us have in our head when considering what is a 'reasonable' programme to attempt. Dan John champions an alternative approach favouring what is reasonable and sustainable verus tough but (sadly) unsustainable. Throughout he champions the use of fundamental human movement patterns as a basis for programme construction, with discussion of concepts around ensuring these movements are being performed optimally according to the trainee's needs, from novices through to advanced athletes.Returning to an earlier reference, the author's diet chapter mentions 'eat like an adult'. Another bit of uncommon common sense, the more I thought about this the more I agree with the insight that a remarkable number of people today are basically still eating as if they were children (and fairly badly-fed children at that). Relying on ready-made processed or take-away meals to shore up a lack of cooking knowledge ... Eating sugary breakfast cereals and junk foodstuffs etc. I think that the concept of 'eating like an adult' encompasses the opposite approach: Shopping wisely, preparing skillfully (hopefully) and, in the process, likely ending up eating a substantially healthier diet as a result. Not everyone needs to read a book like 'Intervention', but in my view if you are jaded with your training / carrying injuries / unsure of where you are going in your training then it may be tremendously useful.

In many people the very name "Spy" excites a shudder of apprehension; we Spies, in fact, get quite used to being shuddered at. None of us Spies mind it at all. Whenever I enter a hotel and register myself as a Spy I am quite accustomed to see a thrill of fear run round the clerks, or clerk, behind the desk.

Strength in Numbers. The Warriors’ 2014-2015 slogan fit this championship team to a T. While they were spearheaded by NBA MVP Stephen Curry, it took a true team effort and display of depth to claim their first NBA title in four decades. Buoyed by a dominant regular season in which they won a league-leading 67 games, the Warriors throttled the NBA with an explosive yet precise offense and a versatile and stingy defense. They cruised through the first three rounds of the playoffs, only losing three games as they dispatched the Pelicans, Grizzlies and Rockets, setting up a dream NBA Finals matchup with LeBron James and the Cavaliers, where coach Steve Kerr’s team overcame a 2-1 series deficit to defeat Cleveland in six games.   Packed with unmatched analysis and dynamic color photography from the Bay Area’s largest newspaper publisher, Golden Boys takes fans through the Warriors’ historic journey, from Steve Kerr taking over as head coach to Klay Thompson’s red-hot 37-point quarter to Stephen Curry’s MVP brilliance to the final horn sounding in Cleveland. This commemorative edition also includes in-depth profiles of Curry, Kerr, Thompson, breakout star Draymond Green, gritty defender Andrew Bogut, rising talent Harrison Barnes and other fan favorites.

I didn't need an overboard or overly expensive memoir of it though; so this was perfect as a happy reminder of those fun games, and the players we have come to know and respect.if you want truly comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the season this might not suffice; but it gives a plenty good overview and insight for the adamant but not rabid fan like me.

Steph is a wonder when he gets the ball and is ready to make a play. I'm just full of amazement when I watch him. He's among the very best of his chosen career. I'm not putting down any of the other good players on other teams. There are plenty!! But, Steph, for his age and experience, is extremely well placed. He almost gives off an aura of magic when that ball leaves his hands. I think he was born with the proverbial silver basketball in his hands. :)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Uninspiring By Chris O'Brien Whilst not strictly a bad memoir of the Warriors 2015 championship, this lazily stitched together collection of feature articles and game recaps from throughout the season was bland and lacked any significant insights into the team and their journey. The chapter structure was also strangely arranged, with the Finals recaps at the beginning no the book ending abruptly with no real concluding comments after the Conference Finals summary. The quality of the images dotted throughout this digital version of the book also varied wildly, some being in such low resolution as to be insulting in this HD digital era.If you read any recaps of the Warriors playoff games or have even the most basic background knowledge of the team there really won't be much in this book that you don't already know.
