About the Author Toby Vintcent served as an officer in the British Army 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers during the Cold War as part of the NATO Rapid Deployment Force. After this, he had a successful career at Merrill Lynch. He has been Director of International Affairs at the British Equestrian Federation. Toby Vintcent's lifelong passion for Formula One has resulted in his first book, Driven. He lives in Oxford, the heart of F1 country, with his wife and son.

A plot as action-packed as Formula 1 By Shan The passion for racing shown in the book is clear as day, the racing brought to life skillfully through the eyes of driver and spectator alike. The portrayal of female lead, and #1 driver, Sabatino, is fantastic and forward thinking, and strong and independent, she is no damsel in distress, despite the efforts of saboteurs.The insight into the corporate and political wheeling and dealing inherent in motorsports is exceptional, and provides a wonderful driving force to the tightly packed plot.

And here we Americans think NASCAR is exciting. Well done, Mr. Vintcent; well done indeed!! I trust we can expect more of Matt Straker in the future?!?!
