Always the Wanderer By Amazon Customer Always the Wanderer tells the story of Patrick, James, and Elizabeth, three expatriates living and working in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The book does not glamorize expat life, but rather presents a thoughtful account of the isolation and anxiety of westerners who seek higher salaries and adventure abroad. This novel does not shy away from the taboo and tackles prostitution, white privilege, and the House of Saud with tremendous insight. With three simultaneous and discrete stories, Always the Wanderer challenged me intellectually while still being an exciting and rewarding read.
